PHOENIX, ARIZONA, US, August 17, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Major pharmaceutical brand Bayer has announced their intention to discontinue the sale and distribution of the birth control implant Essure. This decision comes in the wake of several restrictions and mandatory changes dictated by the FDA due to the serious, and even deadly, side effects associated with use of Essure.

Lerner and Rowe Injury Attorneys are now accepting claims for review to pursue compensation from Bayer for those injured by Essure. If you, or someone you know, has suffered serious and life-changing injuries from having Essure in your body, please reach out to our team today. We will fight to ensure that you receive your due justice. Our firm offers free consultations and we won’t request any payments from you unless we achieve a successful result for your case.

Bayer’s Essure Birth Control Implant

Essure was the only non-surgical, permanent birth control option available to women in the USA. The product itself consists of a flexible coil made of a nickel alloy surrounding two polyester fibers. In an out-patient procedure known as hysteroscopic sterilization, a doctor implants the coil in the fallopian tubes. Over time, scar tissue grows around the device which prevents any released eggs from reaching the uterus and the possibility of fertilization.

Although Essure originally received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2002, reports of serious side effects led to the first set of restrictions placed upon the device. The FDA then mandated a “black box” warning label for the product’s packaging in 2016. Further restrictions were put in place earlier this year.

Despite their decision to discontinue sales of Essure, Bayer still firmly believes the device is safe for public use. As a result, they will not be willing to simply admit defeat in injury cases brought against them. That is why you shouldn’t try to face them alone. Let our team of caring and professional attorneys do the hard work for you. “This can be an intimidating undertaking, and we want to help you come out on top. Don’t let Bayer use their size against you. You deserve justice and we want to be the ones to help you get it,” says personal injury attorney Kevin Rowe.
